Teamwork is key to success!

We have come to the end of another great week. The students have worked hard and we have almost completed our first units. Here is a look at what we have been doing this week.

Grade 4:

This week we spent time learning sportsmanship and trying to combine all the skills we have learned. These skills have included teamwork, cooperation, communication, trust and sportsmanship. More pictures to come next week!

Grade 5:

This week we spent time learning our last few skills which included sportsmanship, communication through body language and leadership. The students then tried to combine all of the skills we have learned so far in game play. Some of the activities included submarine tag, human tic-tac-toe and capture the flag.

Grade 6:

This week we spent time learning our last few skills which included sportsmanship, leadership and accountability. The students spent time defining what these words mean and how they can apply them both in game and in life. We then tried to apply these skills in different cooperative games. More pictures to come next week!

Grade 7:

This week we worked on rules and strategy of a soccer game. We practiced give and go's, through balls, and passing through a defender. We also practiced our throw ins from the side line and discussed how a corner kick can impact a game. We then played different games that encouraged teamwork, and the ability to read your teammates and make accurate passes. The students showed an ability to apply the skills they learn in the drills to a game situation.
