New Year - New Unit

The first week back has been a hectic one! The excitement of the first day back brought lots of fun in the gym playing a new game on Wednesday! On Thursday the grade 7's went on a ski trip and the grade 4's, 5's and 6's had year ahead day. It was fun to see them in a new grade getting to experience new teachers ad new classrooms. I hope everyone had a great week and are ready to get started on our new units. All grades will be taking some time to learn about different aspects of health and well being. This is what's coming for each grade:

Grade 4: We are going to look into some nutrition and see how our eating habits compare to the recommendations of Canada's Food Guide.

Grade 5: We are going to learn about hygiene and taking care of ourselves for both our self confidence and our overall heath.

Grade 6: We are going to be looking at the main causes of stress and anxiety in youth and trying to come up with some strategies and activities we can do to help with stress and anxiety.

Grade 7: We are going to be learning about healthy choices that have to do with peer pressure and the use of cigarettes and alcohol and the overall affect that our choices have on our lives.

I hope everyone had a restful break and are ready to get back into the swing of school! Good to have everyone back.

Merry Christmas

Our last week before Christmas break has been full of Christmas Concert Rehearsals and fun games. The students have been working really hard and it was fun to see all of their practice come together in the end result. We will be starting our health and exercise unit after the break and students will be learning about nutrition, exercise, hygiene and other health topics.

I hope everyone has a terrific Christmas break and a happy New Year!
